The yard sale this weekend was a smashing success, but it left us all exhausted. The 8 year old ran a coffee and lemonade booth to earn money for a kayak and sold at least 40 cups of beverages. Fortunately for him, the morning was cool and cloudy, so the coffee went over really well. A few people even gave him extra money or donated to his fund but didn't buy anything once they found out what he was raising money for. I guess some of them thought that a kayak was a much more worthy cause than an iPad or something.
We got a load and a half of junk out of our basement too, which was great for me. We can now actually walk through it again. I do have a small bit of organizing to do now that I can get to some things that had been blocked by a giant pile of items to go in the yard sale. Also I want to go through materials I save for Cub Scout projects and get them better organized on some shelves in the basement. Currently they are in several boxes on the floor of my office.
