It's almost spring. I'm so anxious for the community farmers market to open again! A couple weeks ago I ran out of the last of my local garlic. That was the only thing I still had from the summer and fall of shopping the community market. This year, though, I'll have the freezer and I'm looking forward to putting up some things in the freezer as the season progresses.
Another thing we're going to do this year is to grow some things here at our house. We have a few with herbs and strawberries, but we're going to build some raised beds this year and plant tomatoes, spinach, lettuce, radishes, peas, and carrots. And maybe some more things, but that's what we're going to start with. The 8 year old is in the gardening club at school, so once things start growing there, he can bring them home to enjoy too.
