S'mores Trail Mix


Here's a quick, easy one for a day time hike or an overnight car camping trip.  We like to mix up a big batch of this before all of our camping trips so we can snack on it in the car or while we're waiting for supper at the camp site.  I like it because, while it's admittedly not the healthiest snack mix out there, it's fun and versatile.

The 8 year old prefers pistachios over peanuts, so I often sub them out in snack mixes I make up for him.  Also you could use Teddy Grahams, Annies Bunny Grahams, Golden Grahams cereal, or like me, just broken up graham crackers.  The trail mix above has chocolate chips in it, but if you're going to be packing this on a hot day, M&M's would be better.

S'mores Trail Mix

1 cup bite sized peices of graham crackers
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup chocolate chips or M&M's
1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries
1/2 cup peanuts or other nut of choice

Mix all ingredients together in a big bowl.  Divide into small individual containers or store in a large airtight container.
